On 26^th July 2018, the Ministry of Commerce of Myanmar (“MOC”) issued its Newsletter No. 3/2018 to list goods permitted for wholesale and retail sale businesses of foreigners or Myanmar-foreigner joint ventures (“List”) pursuant to the MOC Notification No. 25/2018 dated 9^th May 2018.

The permitted goods consist of 24 groups including:

1.  consumer goods (including clothing, clocks and watches, cosmetics products);

2.  food and beverage products;

3.  household products (ceramics, pottery, glass including glassware);

4.  kitchenware products;

5.  medicine and medical products, hospital equipment; etc.

The permitted goods can be locally made or imported.  Laws and regulations issued by relevant authorities on import of goods must be fully complied if businesses are to operate wholesale or retail sale of imported goods.
